At the heart of this sentimental picture is a story about a woman, a museum attendant of the Hermitage Nina Petrovna Vauchskaya. Like any Leningrad woman who survived the blockade, her life was not easy, she lost three children, her husband. But now she has a new kind of family - girls, young people, whom she met at the paintings in the halls of the Hermitage. They come to visit her, bring their children, talk about high things.
